Lot 5463 BRITISH PATTERN 1796 LIGHT CAVARLY TROOPER'S SABRE

. Curved 23" fullered blade with a tapered spine transitioning to a false edge for the final 4". Brass hilt with consists of an upward turned scroll quillon finial, an engraved anchor with entwined rope on each langet, and flat knuckle bow that anchors into the peened pommel with full grip backstrap. Ribbed wooden grip base without wrap. CONDITION: Cleaned blade with scattered pits. Brass has a nice mellow mustard patina with light wear to the engraving and some scattered mild dings.
